Femi Themen is a British-Surinamese artist, brought up in Coventry, currently based in London. She draws from a politic of waywardness to negotiate processes of social, communal, and personal grief. Practices of placemaking, fabulating, and listening inform her living body of work. Femi primarily works with sculpture and sound, employing modes of labour, rhythm and voices that hold historical and cultural ties to her multicultural heritage.
